The Vijay Top Trek is a hidden treasure nestled in the Govind Wildlife Sanctuary of Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand. Known for its untouched alpine meadows, dense pine forests, and stunning views of snow-draped Himalayan peaks, Vijay Top (also called Vijaypur Top) offers an offbeat trekking experience for nature lovers and solitude seekers.
This trek is ideal for beginners as well as experienced trekkers looking for a peaceful trail away from the crowd. On reaching the summit, you’re greeted with breathtaking views of prominent peaks like Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, and Black Peak. The trail also takes you through scenic Himalayan villages, offering glimpses into the traditional Garhwali lifestyle.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Travel from Dehradun to Khanyasni Camp covering 235 kilometers by road.
Altitude gain: 1,878 meters. Stay in Khanyasni will be at the campsite.
Start your trek from Dehradun around 7:00 am, passing through Mussoorie and stopping for breakfast near Kempty Falls. Along the way, you’ll be treated to beautiful views of the Yamuna River and pine forests. After a lunch break in Purola, continue your drive through delightful villages until you arrive at Khanyasni Camp, where you can savor food and beverages amidst nature.
Day 2: On the second day, the trek starts from Khanyasni Camp to Sarutal Camp, covering a trek of 8 kilometres. Altitude gain: 2,000 meters.
Stroll along the charming Rupin valley and trek through the quaint Pujali and Bitri villages, which are beautifully surrounded and terraced fields. Experience the authentic village lifestyle and marvel at the breathtaking views of the Himachal Mountains and Changsheel Valley. Encounter the serene Sarutal meadow where a camp is set.
Day 3: Trek from Sarutal Camp to Badang Camp Trekking Distance: 8 km Altitude: 2,600 meters.
Discover the thick woodland and mountains that separate the Rupin and Supin valleys. Admire the magnificent vistas of the Swargarohini and the Himachal Mountain ranges. Take a rest at the picturesque streams along the path. Your destination will be the expansive Badang meadow, a stunning camping area nestled in nature’s embrace.
Day 4: Trek from Badang Camp to Vijay Top summit and return. The total distance covered is twelve kilometres. Altitude: 3,800 meters (Vijay Top)
Today will be etched in your memory as the highlight of your adventure as you approach Vijay Top. You’ll ascend gradually along snowy paths in the winter and traverse routes teeming with wildlife. The summit offers breathtaking panoramic views of peaks like Kedarkantha, Swargarohini, Bandarpoonch, and the valleys below. After enjoying the scenery, you’ll descend to Badang Camp for a comfortable evening.
Day 5: On the fifth day, trek from Badang Camp to Bhitri Village before driving to Sankri. The total trekking distance is 8 kilometres. Drive Distance: 33 km.
Begin the day by taking in the breathtaking sunrise, then bid farewell to your campsite. Wander through lush meadows and dense forests until you reach the charming village of Bhitri, marking the end of your trek. From there, head to Sankri, where you can immerse yourself in the vibrant local market, savor a mouth-watering meal, and finally, retreat to a well-deserved rest.
Day 6: On the sixth day, travel from Sankri to Dehradun covering 210 kilometres by car.
Savor a hearty farewell breakfast with your fellow travellers and receive your trek completion certificates. Capture the excitement of your trek with some final photos before departing for Dehradun, bringing back with you a wealth of cherished memories and mementos from your adventure.

🔁 Cancellation & Refund Policy
We understand that plans can change, and we aim to offer a fair cancellation and refund policy for our trekkers:
- Cancellation before 30 days from trek start date: 90% refund of the total amount.
- Cancellation between 15-30 days: 70% refund of the total amount.
- Cancellation between 7-14 days: 50% refund of the total amount.
- Cancellation less than 7 days: No refund.
In case of government restrictions, natural calamities, or unforeseen situations where the trek cannot proceed, we will provide options for rescheduling or partial refunds based on actual expenses incurred. No refund will be issued once the trek begins or for unused services. We advise all trekkers to have adequate travel and health insurance for any emergencies.
